Fast Passing and Dribbling Plays in Fours - Training Center Exclusive

A simple exercise when you have large numbers to work with.

Practice lots of different receiving and passing drills here.

Players pass and switch with their teammate behind them, a constant rhythm developed.

1 and 2 touch passing, inside and outside of the foot, double fast touch passing,

Passing with pace to challenge the first touch of the person you pass to.

Also develop running with the ball and performing various tricks and dribbles as you move forward.

Example: The Double touch, scissors, double scissors, Rivelino, double Rivelino;

Lots of touches on the ball at pace for each player


Fast passing plays in fours

A GIVE AND GO: One of the most effective moves in the game is the give and go or 1-2. This game lends itself perfectly to this great combination play. Here (1) and (2) split (A) and (B) with a fast give and go.

(1) Passes to (2) and switches with (3). (2) passes to (3) and switches with (4). Lots and lots of touches on the ball for each player in this exercise..

Fast dribbling plays in fours

(3) Dribbles with the ball to (4) and switches with (4). (4) dribbles to (1) and switches with (1). Lots and lots of touches on the ball for each player in this exercise and as they run across the grid they perform dribbling or turning moves.

Playing Give and Go’s

(3) Passes to (4) and makes an angled run to receive the ball back (a give and go essentially). (3) passes it back to (4) and runs across to the other side.

(4) Receives the ball off (3) and passes to (1) who pays the ball off back to (4) who then passes to (1) again and follows the pass.

Angled Passing and Moving

Angled passing and support. (2) makes an angle of support and (1) passes to (2). After passing to (2), (1) then makes an angled run to get the ball back. (2) plays a one touch give and go and (1) runs the ball out and passes to (4).

(1) And (2) have both run out. (4) Now passes to (3), who has made an angled run to receive,

Angled Passing and Receiving

Two balls going at the same time the players must get a rhythm of passing the two balls. (3) and (4) switch sides each time. 1 and 2 touch passing. Players receive and passing inside.

Players now receive and pass outside, like receiving and spinning away from inside pressure. Check inside (it could be to protect the ball from an opponent using your body), let the ball run across and outside (weight of pass must allow for this) then spin and play 1 touch.
