Dropping Off at the Back and Rebuilding Play
/ Wayne HarrisonA short animation to show how we can develop play from the back. This applies equally to 9 v 9 and 11 v 11 so all our teams can revise and learn this. We only employ these tactics of passing back or across the field when we CAN'T GO FORWARD. Our back three (the same applied to a back four) must learn to move up and down the field quickly on and off the ball and be confident on the ball. Dropping off quickly means they often will have created time and space for themselves to receive and change the tempo of the game and our players in front of them will have time to get free and into open passing lanes to receive and attack.
