A brief presentation on the Tactical systems of play we will teach to offer an all around education for the players on team play during the Tiffiny League Fall season

We had our first two games in typical English weather (I loved it) and both teams did great.

2003 team played really well.. We lost 1-0 but the kids played great and created many good chances; just could not convert, rather like Manchester City at the moment. But its really good we are creating.

We had a few new players too and they looked very promising for us with them fitting in very well with our regulars. Very happy with their performance and having a really good keeper made all the difference.  Last season rotating outfield players in goal proved costly results wise when we know otherwise we would have had better results to  match our really good performances. Some of our die-hard regular players also really rose to the occasion; I can see the soccer awareness training is really sinking in now, it all takes time.

Our new 2005 team was a revelation, 10 new players who haven't played together before on a 16 player roster (we love new blood coming into our club now) and all good players too, so to go with our die-hard regular players we have the makings of a great team here.  Passed and moved the ball for fun, and played with relaxation and desire combined. Ok, several things to fix as a team but its their first time together so incredibly promising. I Don't remember the score to be honest but I know we played great and scored quite a few more than the other teams one goal and constantly created opportunities.

For the new players and parents to the league on both teams please review my bio in case you have never seen it so you know what we will be teaching and our philosophy of development and my background in the game. Please take the time to have a look and digest the information on this website.

Thanks everyone for a great effort today and Mary and I went away with big smiles on our faces; it was a really feel-good day from both games and I am sure we were not alone in that.

Again for new parents below is our philosophy of teaching different systems of play to test the kids at the Tiffiny league, yes we want to win but its important the kids learn to play the game right first and improve their Soccer Awareness.

Today we did a 1-4-4-1-1 for the 2003 and a 1-4-3-3 for the 2005s and both sets of kids did them well.

Parents please pass this on to your children it is good educational material to improve their understanding of the game.

Best wishes, Wayne and Mary

A brief presentation on the Tactical systems of play we will teach to offer an all around education for the players on team play during the Tiffiny League Fall season

Over the course of the season we will be trying different ideas on team shape and systems of play.

The main ones we have already established are 1-3-3-1-3 and 1-4-2-3-1.

With these we have focused on a very offensive approach to the game building from the back every time we can and pressing high up the field.

We will now add another different approach of a 1-5-4-1 to these two but defending deeper and getting very compact and inviting teams on us and then counter attacking quickly when we win possession moving into a 1-3-3-1-3.

Also a 1-4-5-1 when defending which when attacking we become a 1-4-3-3

The new and popular 1-4-1-4-1 system of play also moving to the very attacking 1-2-3-2-3

As we will not be training together I am presenting this in its simplest form for revision for games.

So to break it down simply:

  1. Defensive set up 1-3-3-1-3 (short and tight) changes to attacking 1-3-3-1-3 (wide and longer)
  2. Defensive set up 1-4-2-3-1 changes to attacking 1-3-3-1-3
  3. Defensive set up 1-5-4-1 changes to attacking 1-3-3-1-3
  4. Defensive set up 1-4-5-1 changes to attacking 1-4-3-3
  5. Defensive set up 1-4-1-4-1 changes to a very attacking 1-2-3-2-3

Where will you get a more structured and exciting education on systems of play than this?

Expectations:

We would like to prepare each week in advance through revision of these systems of play.

So each week you are not looking at a 27 slide presentation which may be daunting; but only the relevant part to the particular system of play we plan to use that week so it may be only 3 to 5 slides to really revise and understand. Easy to process and understand.

Have your parents go through it with you to support your learning experience we want parents to be involved in the process of education too.

For each animation press “animation” then “preview” and each slide will open up and players will move.

If you would like more information on each system to really learn them then please let me know as I have very comprehensive presentations on each.
